named eight people as suspects in the alleged fake diploma case of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Polda Metro Jaya has named eight suspects in the case of defamation, slander and manipulation of data reported by Mr Jokowi,” said Polda Metro Jaya Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri at a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (7/11).
In this case, the suspects were divided into two clusters.The first cluster is, Eggi Sudjana (ES), Kurnia Tri Rohyani (KTR), Damai Hari Lubis (DHL), Rustam Effendi (RE), and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah (MRF).

Meanwhile, the second cluster is Roy Suryo (RS), Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar (RHS), and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias dr.Tifa (TT).
The first cluster was charged with articles 310, article 311, 160 of the Criminal Code, article 27a in conjunction, article 45 paragraph 4, and article 28 in conjunction with the ITE Law.Meanwhile, the second cluster was charged with article 310, article 311 of the Criminal Code, article 32 paragraph 1 jo, article 48 paragraph 1, article 35 of the ITE Law.
Previously, Jokowi reported a number of names related to the case.In the report, 12 names were reported, namely, Eggi Sudjana, Rizal Fadillah, Kurnia Tri Royani, Rustam Effendi, Damai Hari Lubis, Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Tifauzia Tyassuma, Abraham Samad, Mikhael Sinaga, Nurdian Susilo, and Aldo Husein.
Asep said that in the process, investigators examined 130 witnesses and 22 experts from various fields consisting of, the press council, KPI, the director general of Kumham rules and regulations, digital forensics academics, and also Indonesian language experts, legal sociologists.
Polda Metro Jaya is investigating six police reports regarding allegations of fake Jokowi diplomas.Of the six reports, one of them was reported directly by Jokowi.
Jokowi submitted a report regarding alleged slander or defamation following accusations of fake diplomas.In the report, Jokowi reported on alleged violations of Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 305 Jo 51 paragraph 1 of the ITE Law.
After being investigated, the police have raised the status of the report submitted by Jokowi to the investigation stage.This is based on the title of the case where investigators found there were criminal elements in it.Meanwhile, for five other reports, three of them also moved to the investigation stage.Meanwhile, the other two reports were withdrawn by the reporting party.
