Police reveal the motive for the explosion at
SMA 72 Jakarta
committed by Children in Conflict with the Law (
ABH
) on Friday (7/11) yesterday.
Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, said that from the results of the investigation it was found that the perpetrator had the incentive to carry out the action.
“From the results of the investigation that we obtained from extracting existing information and clues, it is clear that the ABH in question had the urge to carry out a legal incident,” he said at a press conference, Tuesday (11/11).

Based on the information obtained, he said, the suspect felt alone and had no place to complain, whether in the family, home or school environment.
“The person concerned feels alone, then feels that there is no one to convey their complaints to. Be it in the family environment, then in their own environment and then in the school environment,” he said.
On the other hand, Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri said that the perpetrator of the SMA 72 Jakarta explosion was a closed person and rarely socialized with other people.
He said investigators discovered this after examining a total of 16 witnesses including the perpetrator, his family and the students and teachers at the school.
“From the information we gathered, the Children in Conflict with the Law (ABH) involved are known to be private individuals and rarely socialize,” he said.
Asep Edi added that from the results of cell phone analysis and activity on the internet it was known that the perpetrator was interested in or liked violent content and extreme things.
“(ABH) is interested in violent content and extreme things,” he added.
