Head of the Jombang Police Narcotics Unit, Inspector Bowo Tri Kuncoro, said that Rama bought various types of marijuana seeds.
“Imported marijuana seeds, there are various types, currently we are still investigating, but there are traces from London, England,” said Bowo, Thursday (18/12).

Bowo said Rama initially planted marijuana outdoors.However, this method is considered not to produce optimal plant quality.

“Suspect R has already planted marijuana outdoors but the product is not yet perfect and he harvested 40 marijuana trees last March,” he said.
Bowo said Rama used various supporting equipment such as air conditioning (AC) and special tanning lamps to support the growth of marijuana plants.With this method, the results of marijuana plants are said to be much better and more satisfying than previous plantings.
Apart from focusing on cultivation, said Bowo, the suspect also carried out various further experiments.The harvested marijuana is mixed with 90 percent alcohol to ferment, then tried for consumption.
According to him, the experiment was carried out as part of an innovation effort which, according to the suspect, was related to plant research.
“R also tried marijuana that had been harvested and then fermented with 90 percent alcohol. He carried out this experiment to drink it, he always tried to innovate regarding this marijuana plant,” he said.
Bowo stated that his party is now investigating other parties who funded the research activities carried out by suspect R.
“With sophisticated equipment, suspect R does not rule out the possibility that someone will mark it, later there will be developments regarding who will mark suspect R’s research,” he said.
Previously, the Jombang Police raided a rented house on Jalan Pakubuwono, Mojongapit Village, Jombang District, Jombang Regency, East Java, Monday (15/12), which was used to grow marijuana.
During the raid, the police arrested Rama (43), a resident from Surabaya.From inside his rented house, officers found 110 marijuana plants, dried marijuana weighing 5.3 kilograms, as well as marijuana that had been soaked in several jars.
