Police: Suspected perpetrator of SMA 72 explosion is conscious

Head of Gading, North Jakarta, is conscious after undergoing surgery on Friday (7/11).
“[The alleged perpetrator] is already conscious. But we have to take it slowly, because the injuries are still serious, so we have to pay attention to the physical and medical recovery first, including the mental health of the person concerned,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, at a press conference in Jakarta, Saturday (8/1).
Budi said that it was not only the suspected perpetrator of the SMA 72 explosion who was under strict guard at the hospital, but all the victims of the explosion.

“Certainly [strictly guarded], not only the perpetrators, we also guard the victims. Because we hope that there will be no more serious fatalities,” said Budi.
Furthermore, Budi stated that his party would prioritize restoring the condition of the alleged perpetrator and all victims.Budi also confirmed that the evidence obtained from the crime scene and the house of the suspected perpetrator of the SMA 72 explosion was still being analyzed.
“There was a series carried out by the police, from sterilization, from examining the crime scene, evidence, which was suspicious, so that they carried out a search at one of the houses of the suspected perpetrator.”
“Taking several matches of the evidence found, including matches with what was in the house, it turned out that there were matches in some of the powder tools. Later they will be explained in detail, because analyzing the motive cannot be done in a short time and cannot be haphazard. It takes time,” said Budi.
Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that the suspected perpetrator of the SMA 72 explosion was a student from that school.
