, Central Java, has suspended the detention of two environmental and human rights activists from Semarang, Adetya Pramandira alias Dera (26) and Fathul Munif (28).
Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Artanto, said that the suspension of the detention of two Semarang activists in a case related to last August’s demonstration had been granted as of Wednesday (10/12).

Previously, the Semarang Police had named Dera and Munif as suspects in the ITE Law in connection with the wave of demonstrations last August.Dera was then entrusted to be detained at the Central Java Police Detention Center, while Munif was detained at the Semarang Police Detention Center.

One of the activists in Semarang who is also a colleague of Dera and Munif, Naufal Sebastian, said that his two colleagues had gotten married this Thursday.Furthermore, his party hopes that the case against Dera and Munif will be stopped, because both of them have the right to freedom of expression as regulated by the constitution.
“Yes, the detention has been suspended, now the wedding has been held. We hope that the case involving Dera and Munif can be stopped. It’s a matter of freedom of expression, they express their opinions,” he said.
“And for similar cases in Central Java, it is hoped that the police will not need to be repressive in arresting children who take part in demonstrations,” he continued.
Previously it was reported that the Semarang Police arrested two Semarang City activists, namely Dera and Munif.The police said their arrest was part of a series of actions last August.
Dera and Munif were arrested by police on Thursday (27/11) in Tlogosari District, Semarang.
Both of them were then named as suspects under Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of the ITE Law and/or Article 160 of the Criminal Code.
Last November, the Head of the Semarang Criminal Investigation Unit said that the investigation had been carried out since October 20.Then Dera and Munif were made suspects on November 24, until they were finally arrested by Semarang Police investigators.
