will announce 10 names
national hero
at the State Palace to coincide with Heroes’ Day, Monday (10/11) tomorrow.
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that one of the 10 names of new heroes was the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto.
“Tomorrow, God willing, it will be announced. Approximately 10 names. [Soeharto] Yes, come in, come in,” said Prasetyo in Kertanegara, Jakarta, Sunday (9/11).

Prasetyo said that today’s meeting between Prabowo and a number of high-ranking state officials also discussed finalizing the names of national heroes.
At the meeting in Kertanegara this time, Prabowo also invited the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon who is also the Chair of the Council for Degrees, Service and Honors (GTK) of the Republic of Indonesia.
Prabowo, said Pras, also received input from the leadership of the DPR and MPR at a limited meeting in Kertanegara.
“Because that’s the way he works, he assigns several people to communicate with figures, get input from various parties so that it is hoped that what will be decided by the president, by the government, will have gone through various input,” he said.
Pras emphasized that Suharto was decided to receive the title of national hero because of his services in building the Indonesian nation during his leadership.
“Once again, as we said yesterday, that is part of how we respect our predecessors, especially our leaders, who, no matter what, have certainly provided extraordinary services to the nation and state,” said Pras.
