Rizki Juniansyah
became a TNI second lieutenant after winning gold in the 2025 World Championships.
At the World Weightlifting Championships which took place in early October 2025, Rizki won two gold and one bronze in the men’s 79 kilogram class.
Gold came from a total lift of 361 kilograms and a clean and jerk lift of 204 kilograms.Meanwhile, bronze was the result of a snatch lift weighing 157 kilograms.

Rizki was also recorded as Indonesia’s most successful athlete at this world-class event and also contributed the most medals to the Red and White contingent, winning two gold, one silver and two bronze.
Apart from Rizki, other athletes who received medals were Rahmat Erwin Abdullah who also appeared in the men’s 79 kilogram class and Eko Yuli Irawan who participated in the men’s 65 kilogram class.
Rizki confirmed the information regarding his appointment as second lieutenant in the TNI.
“Thank God, I was appointed second lieutenant,” said the lifter who also won Olympic gold in 2024.
Becoming a TNI is Rizki’s dream.One of the big drives was his late father’s wishes.
“Actually, [the dream] didn’t start when I was little. I probably started to feel like the police and the TNI maybe when I was 17 years old or older. There was also no one in my family who [became] an officer. I just wanted one of my parents’ children to be a weightlifter, so that would also make a future career,” explained Rizki.
The 22-year-old athlete talked about his father’s hopes of seeing his son become an officer, which was hampered by his career as a lifter and the agenda of various prestigious championships, including the Olympics.

“Thank God it happened, maybe on the date I am inaugurated, I will go to my father’s grave wearing a uniform,” he continued.
Rizki is planned to be inaugurated on November 27 and will be placed in the Jalan Kwini area, Central Jakarta, a location that has been a training center for weightlifting athletes.
“God willing, placement in Kwini. So I am flexible with my training time and days. Monday to Friday here, Saturday-Sunday at home. And everything can be seen. Because if I’m still in weightlifting, I’ll still be given relief until I retire from weightlifting,” he said.
