BNPB also increased the number of heavy equipment to eight units and deployed sniffer dogs (K9) to speed up the search for victims of the landslide that hit Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap.
The joint team carried out a careful search for missing victims. This is because moderate to light rain makes the terrain difficult and makes it prone to subsequent landslides.
BNPB also appealed to residents to remain vigilant because light to moderate intensity rain still has the potential to occur until Sunday (16/11).
The Majenang basin area is an area to watch out for because it is prone to ground movement.
“The basic needs of affected residents are met through public kitchens and health posts which have been operating to serve residents and SAR officers,” said Budi.
The landslide disaster occurred on Thursday (13/11) at around 19.00 WIB.
Landslides buried a number of residents’ houses in Tarukahan Hamlet and Cibuyut Hamlet, Cibeunying Village, Majenang District, Cilacap.
