, on Tuesday (2/9) night.This departure was carried out in order to fulfill the official invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“On tonight President Prabowo Subianto left for Beijing, China, to fulfill the invitation of President Xi Jinping,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in a statement broadcast by the Youtube account of the Presidential Secretariat.
The aircraft carrying President Prabowo and a limited group took off from the Indonesian Air Force Base Halim Perdanakusuma, Jakarta, around 20:00 WIB.
Also accompanying President Prabowo on the flight, namely Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Pras explained that the invitation of President Xi was actually scheduled since August 31, 2025 ago.However, Prabowo had delayed departure for considering the dynamics of the situation in the country.
“In fact the invitation expects the presence of Mr. President Prabowo from the 31st (August) but because of the dynamics in the country, then the President Prabowo decided to postpone the departure,” he said.
Pras revealed that there was a special request from the Chinese government so that Prabowo could attend the 80 -year commemoration event as well as a military parade held in Beijing.
“In recent days, there has been a very request from the Chinese government to get the President Prabowo Subianto to attend, at least one day at the 80 -year commemoration event and at the Chinese Government Military Parade,” he said.
Pras asserted that in every decision making, Prabowo always considers the dynamics that are ongoing in the country.However, he continued, the Head of State also considers it important to maintain good relations with China.
“Therefore, in order to maintain good relations with the Chinese government, the President decided to leave tonight and the next night he would return to his homeland,” he said.
In addition to attending the event, Prabowo is also expected to meet and interact with a number of world leaders present.
“Of course he will meet with the leaders of the world leader, especially President XI. We hope that we all hope that on the sidelines of his visit, of course there are talks that we certainly hope to bring good to the relationship between Indonesia and the Chinese government,” Pras said.
