“No corporation should defeat the state. We need corporations, we need the private business world, but they cannot regulate the state and defeat the state,” said Prabowo when giving directions at the Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace, Jakarta, yesterday (15/12).
According to him, the economy is structured as a joint venture based on the principle of kinship, but its legal basis is still guided by the 1945 Constitution.

Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution regulates that natural resources such as earth, water and natural wealth are controlled by the state for the prosperity of the people.Then, important production branches that concern the livelihoods of many people are also controlled by the state.
Therefore, Prabowo emphasized that all regulations that conflict with Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution must be revised.
“So once again, we must have the courage to abandon all regulations, all legal products that are not in accordance with Article 33 and change them. Our direction must refer to Article 33 of the 1945 Law,” he said.
In yesterday’s meeting, Prabowo touched on the naughty actions of businessmen who were detrimental to Indonesia because they ran illegal businesses and violated regulations.
“For example, there are too many illegal logging activities, illegal logging, also illegal mining, too many illegal mines, too much smuggling. We have mobilized the TNI, Polri, mobilized force, there are still parties who continue to refuse to respect the law in Indonesia,” he said.
He also mentioned the involvement of government officials, TNI and Polri, who were even found to be behind this dirty act so that they could operate freely for a long time.Prabowo gave the example of the tin smuggling case in Bangka.
“Smuggling, for example from Bangka, tin smuggling which has been going on for quite a long time, I also received reports from law enforcement, from the TNI itself reports that there were officials, there were TNI officers involved, I also got reports that Polri officers were involved, and several agencies,” he added.
Because of this, Prabowo hopes that the TNI Commander and National Police Chief will take action against their officers who protect smuggling activities or other illegal businesses.
“We must face this violation of the law seriously. We must not be afraid to admit our weaknesses, but we must continue to be determined to resolve this problem,” he concluded.
