President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated
Arif Satria
as Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (
BRIN
) at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (10/11).He replaces Laksana Tri Handoko, who has served since 2021.
Arif was appointed together with Amarulla Octavian who will serve as Deputy Head of BRIN.Arif was previously the chancellor of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) University for the 2017-2022 and 2023-2028 periods.
Arif was appointed as Head of BRIN in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 123/P of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Head and Deputy Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

“By Allah, I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as strictly as possible for the sake of my devotion to the nation and state, that in carrying out my duties and position I will uphold the ethics and position of working as well as possible and with full responsibility,” said Arif Satria and Amarulla following Prabowo’s words.
Previously, Prabowo carried out the third reshuffle last Wednesday (17/9).A number of ministers were replaced.
BUMN Minister Erick Thohir was removed from his position as BUMN Minister.However, he has now been appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), replacing Dito Ariotedjo.
Then, Prabowo also appointed Djamari Chaniago as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs (MenkoPolkam).He replaced Budi Gunawan who was removed from that position.
