officially released the Indonesian contingent who will compete in the 2025 SEA Games at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (5/12) afternoon.
Prabowo advised all athletes competing in the SEA Games to bring out their best abilities.This is because all athletes have the honor of representing the nation at the Southeast Asian regional sports event.
“You have received an honor that is not rarely given to the sons or daughters of our nation. You have the opportunity, the honor to represent the Indonesian nation. Our nation is the fourth largest nation in the world, with 200 million people,” said Prabowo.

“They want to hear the song Indonesia Raya respected by other nations. So young people, I only advise that we can do the best we can. Sing Indonesia Raya in front of other nations,” he continued.
The Indonesian contingent competing in the SEA Games has a strength of 1,021 athletes.This number increased from the previous 996 athletes.
The increase in the number of athletes occurred due to the addition of numbers being competed, specifically in the sports of athletics, cycling and fencing.
The change in the number of athletes sent is related to the budget and targets.Menpora Erick Thohir targets to win 80 gold medals at the 2025 SEA Games.
“Yes, we give the best, one of the best. One of the best, the Ministry of Youth and Sports is combing our budget as much as possible and sending as many results as possible to win as many medals as possible,” said Erick at the inauguration of the 2025 SEA Games athletes.
“Well, 80 gold is the target. But are we satisfied with 80 gold or silver? No, we want to see the best. So don’t reverse the paradigm. Instead, we give our best, we do our best to get the best number.”
