reminded all governors, regents and mayors in Papua not to use special autonomy funds to travel abroad.
“But I really ask the governor, regents to be responsible, regents and governors not to travel abroad too much using special autonomy funds,” said Prabowo in his direction with regional heads throughout Papua, State Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12).

Prabowo said all regional heads work for the people.According to him, their performance is entirely accountable to the Papuan people.
Prabowo also asked Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian to monitor the performance of regional heads in Papua.
Apart from that, Prabowo also touched on the issue of equality.He said that the government must manage Papua’s natural resources wisely and honestly.
“Every day we know more and more about our potential and our wealth. But we also have to admit that we are not yet competent in safeguarding and managing our wealth. For this reason, the central government is working hard to improve ourselves,” he said.
He also instructed everyone to work wholeheartedly for their people.Prabowo asked them to work honestly and away from corrupt actions.
“And we will not hesitate to remove, fire officials who are incapable. Without discrimination, without looking at which party,” he said.
The provision of Special Autonomy funds for Papua now refers to Law (UU) Number 2 of 2021 concerning Special Autonomy for Papua Province.
The amount of Papua’s Special Autonomy Fund has increased to 2.25 percent of the National General Allocation Fund (DAU).There are two new distribution schemes, namely 2 percent for general spending/direct transfers to regions and 0.25 percent for Fiscal Incentives for Indigenous Papuans (OAP).
However, for 2025, Papua’s special autonomy funds, which were originally IDR 900 billion, were cut to only IDR 881 billion.
