Instructing foreign language subjects is one of the obligations of schools in Indonesia.
This was conveyed by the Minister of Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, after a meeting with Prabowo at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).

“Including, the president asked that apart from Indonesian, English and Arabic be an obligation for schools to implement,” said Cak Imin after the meeting.
At the same time, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno said the meeting also touched on the topic of teaching Portuguese in schools.
“Yes, we will follow up on that later at the Ministry of Basic Education,” said Pratikno.
Apart from that, Cak Imin also said that the government will increase vocational training to encourage high school and vocational school graduates to be more quickly absorbed into the world of work both at home and abroad.
He said the government would involve state-owned and private training centers to be able to meet the needs of the job market.
“Second, the president’s order to revitalize vocational schools, where the educational curriculum and educational management are oriented towards preparation for employment and the world of work,” he said.
