Wiles made this statement in an interview published in a Vanity Fair article. The magazine said the statements were based on a series of interviews with veteran political journalist Chris Whipple over the past year.
Reported by AFP, Wiles rejected the article, which he said was “made up to bring down opponents”.Wiles also accused Vanity Fair of trying to “paint a very messy and negative narrative” about Trump’s team.
“Important context was ignored and many of the things I and others said about the team and the President were left out of the news,” Wiles said.
Trump himself told the New York Post that Wiles was right when he described him as having the personality of an alcoholic, even though he admitted he didn’t drink at all.
“Look, I don’t drink alcohol. So everyone knows that. But I often say that if I drank, I would have a good chance of becoming an alcoholic,” Trump said.
“I have said that many times about myself, it’s true. It’s my very possessive personality,” he added.
Even though he denied the statement about Trump, Wiles admitted to being frank about his opinion of Elon Musk, especially when he led the Government Efficiency Department and cut massive costs. He described Musk as a “true solo actor”.
