An Exco meeting will be held, because three PSSI delegates to Europe to interview prospective coaches have arrived in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/12).The three PSSI delegates will be asked to provide reports.
“Soon [there will be a PSSI Exco Meeting]. [PSSI delegates] have [returned from Europe],” Riyadh told hitclubapk3 Indonesia regarding the activities the federation would carry out, Thursday (4/12).

It’s just that Riyadh has not been able to confirm the exact date of the Exco Meeting.As a member of the Exco, Riyadh will await an invitation from the Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi.
Riyadh also confirmed that there were only two names of prospective Indonesian National Team coaches who would be discussed at the Exco Meeting.This is in accordance with Sumardji’s statement on Tuesday (2/12).
The chairman of the PSSI National Team Agency (BTN) said that the candidates for the Indonesian National Team coach were narrowed down to two names.However, Sumardji was reluctant to reveal this.
“We will select two coaches first to discuss in more detail. Yes, just wait [names of those interviewed] because we want to find the best,” said Sumardji.
From the rumors circulating, which were created by the European mass media, especially England, the two strongest candidates for Indonesia’s coaches are Giovanni van Bronckhorst and John Herdman.
In accordance with the organizational mechanism or PSSI Statute, the appointment of the Indonesian National Team coach will be agreed upon at the Exco Meeting.The names of the two candidates will be discussed at the PSSI Exco Meeting.
Apart from Van Bronckhorst and Herdman, rumors about other potential Indonesian national team coaches that have surfaced are Timur Kapadze, Jesus Casas and Heimir Hallgrimsson.
Meanwhile, Kapadze’s name has certainly been dropped from the list of prospective coaches for the Indonesian National Team.Currently, the coach from Uzbekistan has just been proposed to by the Uzbek club, PFC Navbahor.
Meanwhile Hallgrimsson is currently still under contract with Ireland.He is still fighting in the European zone play-off for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in March 2026.
Because of this, it is believed that Hallgrimsson’s chances of becoming coach of the Indonesian National Team are small.Meanwhile, it is believed that Casas is not a strong enough candidate from the names circulating.
