PTPN IV PalmCo President Director Jatmiko K. Santosa said, apart from the 26 tonnes of cooking oil distributed through the Ministry of Agriculture (Ministry of Agriculture) Cares program, the company is also ready to distribute a total of 470 tonnes so that the total assistance of 500 tonnes of cooking oil or around IDR 9.3 billion is ready to be distributed to the three affected provinces.
“We, together with the Minister and the ranks of BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises) sent more than 200 aid trucks to Sumatra. For PalmCo, we also sent 26 tons of cooking oil along with other basic necessities,” said Jatmiko in his statement in Jakarta, Friday.

Apart from food assistance, PalmCo regional units also mobilized equipment and manpower to support accelerated recovery in flooded areas.
“Hopefully this assistance will ease the burden on our affected brothers and sisters,” he said.
Synergy between the government, BUMN and business actors is an important step to ensure that people’s basic needs are met quickly.
Apart from strengthening humanitarian operations, PalmCo’s contribution helps maintain the stability of cooking oil supplies in Sumatra, especially amidst distribution disruptions due to flooding.
This joint effort is expected to speed up the recovery of affected areas, as well as provide certainty for the community that food supplies will remain maintained during the emergency response period.
The government is accelerating humanitarian operations to help residents affected by flooding in a number of areas of Sumatra.
A total of 207 logistics trucks containing basic necessities ranging from eggs, cooking oil, sugar, milk, instant noodles, mineral water, to rice were departed for Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.The value of the assistance reached IDR 34.8 billion.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that the food supply for communities in disaster areas is guaranteed to be safe.The government, he said, has prepared rice reserves up to three times the needs of the affected provinces.
“We want no one to lack rice. Our reserves are large,” said Amran.
On that occasion, he also expressed his appreciation to Sub Holding PTPN III (Persero), PTPN IV PalmCo which was considered to have played a major role in supporting the stability of the supply of cooking oil in the field.
“The government would like to thank the Managing Director of PTPN IV PalmCo. His participation is extraordinary, especially in helping maintain the availability of cooking oil. Deliveries continue to be made to our communities in disaster areas,” he said.
