PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PTPN IV) PalmCo, one of the subholding BUMNs of PTPN III (Persero), distributed 272.6 tonnes of Food Supply and Price Stabilization Program (SPHP) rice until September 2025. This distribution of SPHP rice was carried out to support national food security.
PTPN IV PalmCo President Director Jatmiko K Santosa said this effort shows that BUMN is not only focused on business activities.
“But it also plays an active role in maintaining the stability of food supplies and prices, especially rice,” said Jatmiko in his written statement, Thursday (20/11).

Jatmiko said this realization was achieved through the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) Program which was a direct assignment from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) to PTPN III as the holding company for plantation BUMN.
He said that from the initial target set at 150 distribution points, PTPN IV succeeded in distributing to 169 points, or 19 points more than the original plan.
Jatmiko said that the success of SPHP rice distribution could not be separated from the strategic collaboration between PTPN IV PalmCo and Perum Bulog as well as all the company’s business units in various regions.
This synergy, he continued, is the key to ensuring that rice reaches the people according to the Highest Retail Price (HET) set by the government, amidst the food price fluctuations that are occurring in several regions.
Residents appreciate PTPN IV’s efforts.Resident of Medan, North Sumatra, Siti Rahma, admitted that she was greatly helped by the implementation of the GPM program. Moreover, this was done in the midst of rising food prices on the market.
“The price of rice on the market has gone up, but at GPM PalmCo I can buy 5 kilograms of rice (for) IDR 60 thousand. The quality is good, fluffier and clean,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dwi Haryanto, a resident of Pontianak, West Kalimantan, highlighted the cross-sectoral role carried out by PTPN IV PalmCo to increase the public’s appreciation and positive impression of BUMN.
“I just found out that palm oil companies like PalmCo are helping with cheap rice. Hopefully it will continue,” said Dwi.
