to repair 60 thousand schools and build 300 bridges next year.
According to Purbaya, school improvements are nothing new.It has also been carried out this year and is very ready to continue in 2026.
However, he said he did not yet know the exact budget needed because he needed to see in the field the extent of the school’s condition and how much improvement was needed.

“There are (funds). We have made a lot of improvements. There are (funds), but we are still calculating (detailed) costs,” said Purbaya at the 2025 Conference on Indonesian Foreign Policy (CIFP) at Kasablanka Hall, Saturday (29/11).
Purbaya explained that the construction of the bridge is currently in the stage of collecting data on locations that need to be built.Once the data is available, the exact budget requirements will be calculated.
“The most compiled ones are definitely bridges, around 300 thousand. The data is being compiled as to how many bridges are needed, and what it is like for each river,” he said.
President Prabowo is targeting repairs of 60 thousand school buildings in Indonesia by 2026. This number is an increase compared to this year’s 16 thousand school units.
“Minimum 60 thousand, I’m not satisfied with even 60 thousand, Minister of Finance, can we increase (the budget)?”he said in front of thousands of teachers who attended the peak of the 2025 National Teachers’ Day celebration at the Indonesia Arena, Jakarta, Friday (28/11).
Not only that, during the Teacher’s Day event, Prabowo also emphasized that he would form a Special Bridge Emergency Task Force tasked with building bridges in remote areas of the country.
Prabowo said the Task Force would build 300 thousand bridges in all remote corners of Indonesia.He targets the construction to be completed next year.
“300 thousand bridges, some are small, some are crossings, we are currently designing this, my children are patient. I am working, hopefully next year all the bridges can be up,” he stressed.
