Ancient
Yudhi Sadewa explained the reasons behind the plan to change the energy compensation payment scheme to PT
Pertamina
(Persero) and PT
PLN
(Persero).
This change in scheme will shift the compensation payment pattern which was previously given quarterly to monthly.
According to Purbaya, monthly payments will help the cash flow of the two BUMNs while preventing accusations that the government is delaying its obligations.

Cashflow
they (BUMN) will be better, every month they will get 70 percent.Later the 30 percent will be calculated in September.Later, if that’s not enough, the rest will all be paid in September.”So the first nine months are paid in September,” said Purbaya at The Westin Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday (20/11).
Purbaya previously said the government was preparing the new payment model so that compensation could be disbursed more regularly.
In practice, payment is not made in full at once, but only a portion of the total bill.
“We have created a new compensation scheme, where we also pay every month,” said Purbaya when met at his office, Tuesday (21/10).
He added that the monthly payment portion would be limited.
“But 70 percent first. So later in the eighth month (August), we will calculate what it is, more or less,” he explained.
Purbaya ensures that the government has sufficient budget to fulfill these obligations. He stated that the Ministry of Finance had communicated with Pertamina and PLN to ensure funding readiness.
“We have sent letters to Pertamina and PLN that the money is available, or the funds are already available, they just have to send us a letter,” he said.
Energy compensation itself is funds provided by the government to cover the difference between the retail selling price of fuel or electricity tariffs and the economic price.
Based on data from the Ministry of Finance, the realization of energy compensation payments to Pertamina and PLN throughout 2024 will reach IDR 386.9 trillion.
