Gold export duties are planned at 7.5 percent to 15 percent.Meanwhile, the coal import duty rate is 1 percent to 5 percent.
He hopes to collect IDR 23 trillion per year from these two policies.

“IDR 3 trillion (from gold) and IDR 20 trillion (from coal),” said Purbaya when asked at the DPR RI Commission XI Working Meeting, Monday (8/12).
Purbaya emphasized that the estimated income from these two policies has not been included in the 2026 APBN because the rates are still within the range.
However, he targets to collect IDR 23 trillion which will be used to cover next year’s deficit.
“To cover the deficit first, reduce our deficit,” he said when asked.
According to Purbaya, the withdrawal of gold export duties must be carried out because domestic reserves are starting to run low.In this way, products can be maximized to meet domestic demand first.
“In line with the priority of developing the Indonesian bank bullion ecosystem, the need for domestic gold supplies is increasing. Therefore, export duty policy instruments are needed to support the availability of gold supplies in Indonesia,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the withdrawal of export duties on coal was carried out because so far its contribution to the country has not been much, even when prices have risen.In fact, according to Purbaya, when prices fall he always asks the state for restitution.
“This is strange. These are all rich people, they make a lot of profit, I subsidize them indirectly, that’s why my taxes have gone down this year because I paid quite a lot of restitution,” he stressed.
