The appointment was decided at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS), Monday (15/12).
Febrio replaces Suminto who was appointed as an ex-officio member of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) of the Ministry of Finance since October 2025.

“Mr Suminto’s term of office as Commissioner of the Company ends on October 8 2025 and confirmation of his dismissal was determined at this Extraordinary GMS,” said BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan in a written statement.
The BNI EGMS also approved the delegation of authority regarding the preparation and ratification of the 2026 Company Work Plan and Budget (RKAP).
This step is intended to speed up the planning process and ensure the company’s operational readiness entering the next financial year.
Furthermore, shareholders also approved the results of updating the 2025/2026 Recovery Plan document as part of fulfilling regulatory requirements and strengthening BNI’s operational sustainability planning.
Shareholders also approved changes to the company’s Articles of Association, including adjustments to supervisory governance by the Operational Holding in accordance with the mandate of the BUMN Law issued in 2025.
Putrama explained that all decisions taken at the EGMS were strategic steps to ensure the company’s governance remains in line with regulatory changes and supports the smooth execution of future business strategies.
“This EGMS ensures that all aspects of BNI’s governance remain in line with regulatory developments and supports the company’s operational readiness in carrying out its business strategy for the coming year,” he said.
