The first child of Pakubuwono XIII reminded his father that he had appointed KGPAA Hamangkunegoro Sudibyo Rajaputra Narendra ing Mataram as crown prince.
“I must emphasize, Sinuhun (Pakubuwono XIII) has appointed and inaugurated the crown prince,” said Timoer after accompanying Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X in mourning at the Surakarta Palace, Tuesday (4/11).

Timoer confirmed that the king’s immediate family had agreed to protect the message of the late Pakubuwono XIII.
“He gave a mandate to us, his sons and daughters and we have to carry out that mandate,” he said.
The children of Pakubuwono XIII agreed to install KGPAA Hamangkunegoro as King of the Surakarta Palace.

Timoer said that the appointment of KGPAA Hamangkunegoro as successor to the throne of the Surakarta Palace had been agreed upon by the nuclear family of Pakubuwono XIII.He emphasized that parties outside the nuclear family have no authority regarding the succession to the leadership of the Palace.
“What is clear is that we, the sons and daughters of Pakubuwono XIII, the nuclear family have agreed to carry out Sinuhun’s mandate. Apart from that (the nuclear family) it is no longer their domain to determine who becomes king,” he said.
This decision cannot be contested.According to him, the rejection of KGPAA Hamangkunegoro as King of the Surakarta Palace was the same as violating existing customs.
“If that happens (rejection), it means they are violating customs,” he said.
Timoer did not answer when asked when KGPAA Hamangkunegoro would be appointed king.
“Wait later,” he said.
The King of the Surakarta Palace, Pakubuwono (PB) XIII died at the age of 77, Sunday (2/11).The body will be buried in Imogiri, Yogyakarta, Wednesday (5/11).
Since 2022, Pakubuwono XIII has crowned Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Harya (KGPH) Purbaya or KGPAA Hamangkunegoro as crown prince.
KGPH Purbaya was the son of PB XIII and the empress GKR Pakubuwono (or KRAy Pradapaningsih).He was only 21 years old when he was crowned crown prince.
His birth name was recorded as Gusti Raden Mas Suryo Aryo Mustiko, then when he was appointed his title changed to KGPH Purbaya or KGPAA Hamangkunegoro.
Purbaya was officially designated as crown prince when he was called with the full title KGPAA Hamangkunegoro Sudibyo Rajaputra Narendro Mataram at the 18th anniversary ceremony of his accession to the throne or Tingalan dalem Jumenengan Sampeyan dalem Ingkang Sinuhun Kanjeng Susuhunan (SISKS) Paku Buwono (PB) XIII at the Solo Palace on February 27 2022.
