PSSI officially announced Nova Arianto as the coach of the U-20 Indonesian National Team at a press conference at the GBK Arena, Jakarta, Thursday (20/11).
Apart from Sumardji, the press conference was also attended by PSSI Technical Director Alexander Zwiers, PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi, and coach Nova Arianto himself.

“The first is based on our assessment regarding how we work, the second is about consistency. Coach Nova has the consistency to bring our children to meet their hopes and desires,” said Sumardji.
“We assess that Nova maintains the mentality and discipline of players to maintain player performance. This can be seen from the real work of coach Nova who was able to qualify for the Asian Cup and then on to the U-17 World Cup,” he added.
Sumardji also spoke about the framework of the U-20 Indonesian National Team which will be led by Nova Arianto.Sumardji emphasized that the foundation uses the Indonesian U-17 National Team players who will appear in the 2025 U-17 World Cup.
In this event, Nova Arianto’s squad managed to make history by achieving their first win when they beat Honduras 2-1 in the final match of the group phase.
“Regarding the Men’s U-20 national team, 85 percent of the players are U-17 national team players who have just carried out World Cup activities,” he said.
