Commission III of the DPR is scheduled to immediately discuss the Draft Law (RUU)
Criminal Adjustment
starting next week after the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (
RKUHAP
) was officially ratified on Tuesday (18/11).
Member of Commission III DPR, Soedeson Tandra, said that his party is targeting the Criminal Adjustment Bill to be completed before the end of the session until December 10.This means that Commission III has about two weeks to complete the bill.
“Yes, our target is before the recess period ends. Because if we recess it will be next year. Even though the Criminal Code takes effect on January 2. So, we are targeting this,” said Soedeson at the parliament complex, Jakarta, Thursday (20/11).

Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman, said that the Criminal Adjustment Bill must be passed immediately in order to achieve the target of enacting the Criminal Code on January 2 2026 along with the Criminal Procedure Code.
This is because the Criminal Adjustment Bill will regulate derivatives of the Criminal Code which was previously passed in December 2022.
“So before the implementation of the Criminal Code there must be a Criminal Adjustment Law,” said Habiburokhman at the Parliament Complex, Senyan, Jakarta, Wednesday (19/11).
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Law Eddy Hiariej explained that the Criminal Adjustment Bill is an order from Article 613 of the Criminal Code which mandates adjustments to other laws with the Criminal Code, including the Regional Government Law.
The Criminal Adjustment Bill will only contain three chapters consisting of 35 articles.The three chapters will contain: first, adjustments between laws outside the Criminal Code;second, adapting regional regulations to the Criminal Code;three, editorial improvements to the contents of the Criminal Code.
“So laws outside the Criminal Code must be adjusted, including regional regulations, with the national Criminal Code,” he said.
