“I said to Mr. Jimly, ‘Can the PRC (Roy, Rismon and Tifa) come along?’because Asbabun Nuzul is honestly about their case.He said, ‘Go ahead, you do
determine
‘.Yes, invite others, it’s up to you.”Yes, finally (invited),” he explained.
The day before the hearing, Refly then admitted that he was contacted and told that Roy, Tifa and Rismon could not take part in the hearing because of their status as suspects in the alleged fake diploma case against the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo.
Afterwards, Refly admitted that he had not provided any information regarding the presence of Roy Suryo Cs at the hearing.Because, according to him, this hearing could be a forum for conveying aspirations regarding the alleged criminalization of Roy Suryo et al.
“When Mr. Jimly arrived, of course I was shocked. I apologize for that. If Mr. Jimly heard it, I apologize. Then, apparently he was given a choice. Either go out or sit at the back,” he added.
Refly said that because he was only given two options, his party decided to leave and not continue with the hearing.
Meanwhile at the same location, Roy admitted that he chose to leave because he felt it would be a waste if he could only attend the audience without being given the opportunity to speak.
“So we left because of WO, yes we walked out, we decided that we were leaving. We were given the opportunity to sit inside. But yes, we stated that we were leaving,” he said.
On the other hand, Rismon admitted that he was disappointed with the ranks of the National Police Reform Acceleration Commission because they were not given the opportunity to voice their opinion regarding the case that was currently ensnaring him. Moreover, his legal status in this case is still a suspect and not yet convicted.
“I feel silenced. Even suspects are not allowed to voice their aspirations, let alone convicts. And remember, Prof. Jimly, if we research and edit, we manipulate it, we cannot possibly publish it in a book. That evil manipulation is in a dark room, not in a bright room,” he said.
