“Heavy rain has flooded refugee tents, wet residents’ belongings, and increased health risks, including hypothermia in babies and diseases related to overflowing wastewater,” Haq said in a press conference, Thursday (11/12), as quoted

.
Haq said the UN team in the field had prepared a series of steps to respond to this situation. These steps include the distribution of tents, tarpaulins, warm clothes, blankets and other basic necessities.
Haq said that since Thursday morning, there had been more than 160 flood warnings in the Gaza area. The UN emergency response team has processed the warnings.
“Based on flood risk analysis, more than 760 refugee camps housing around 850,000 people are at the highest risk of flooding,” he said.
“This is equivalent to around 40 percent of Gaza’s population,” he continued.
Haq also emphasized that there is a “huge need” in Gaza now.He urged that restrictions on humanitarian aid be lifted immediately.
“This includes ending bans on most international non-profits and UNRWA, which continue to serve communities despite operating under severe constraints to further scale up the response,” he said.
Since Wednesday, thousands of tents housing Gaza residents have been flooded. The flood submerged the beds, clothes and food stocks of residents who had been badly affected by the Zionist state’s aggression.
