Indonesian cyclist Rendy Varera said he wanted to reduce the brakes after successfully donating the first medal to the Indonesian contingent in
SEA Games
Thailand 2025 on Wednesday (10/12).
Rendy managed to perform impressively in the Men’s Mountain Bike (MTB) Downhill event at the 2025 SEA Games which took place at Khao Kheow Open Zoo, Thailand.
Rendy successfully recorded a time of 2 minutes 38.714 seconds.Rendy admitted that he was grateful to be able to win a silver medal at the 2025 SEA Games.

“Quite relieved, I have given this to the maximum, I am very grateful for today’s results. This time record
personal best
and the best time I can give,” said Rendy, quoted from the NOC release.
However, Rendy admitted that he wanted to further increase his speed by reducing braking.

Rendy only lost to the host athlete from Thailand, Methasit Boonsane, who won the gold medal with a time of 2 minutes 37.856 seconds.
Then the bronze medal was won by Filipino athlete, John Derick Fart with a time of 2 minutes 43.676 seconds.
Rendy Varera’s success succeeded in motivating his colleague, Riska Amelia Agustina, who won a silver medal in the women’s downhill number at the 2025 SEA Games, Wednesday (10/12).
