According to him, the agreement is in accordance with the campaign initiated by President Donald Trump, America First.
“In line with President Trump’s direction that AUKUS should move ‘at full speed’, this review identified opportunities to put AUKUS in the strongest possible position,” said Parnell on Thursday (4/12), quoted

Democratic Congressman Joe Courtney said completing the review was in line with national priorities.
“The pact’s framework aligns with our country’s national security interests,” Courtney said.
Courtney has been a vocal supporter of AUKUS in Congress, and represents the Connecticut district, home to the nation’s premier submarine manufacturing facility.
Meanwhile, Australia’s Defense Industry Minister, Pat Conroy, said he was pleased with the completion of the review.
“We will engage constructively with its findings and recommendations on how to improve AUKUS further,” he said.
Conroy said it was up to Washington whether it decided to release the documents to the public.
“We are currently reviewing it, and over the last two years we have publicly communicated where we can improve the delivery and performance of AUKUS,” Conroy said.
The AUKUS pact aims to arm Australia with a fleet of advanced US submarines and will provide cooperation in developing a range of warfare technologies.
The submarine is at the heart of Australia’s strategy to increase attack capabilities in the Pacific region, especially against the threat posed by China.
The AUKUS deal could cost Canberra up to US$235 billion over the next 30 years, and also include technology to build its own ships in the future.
