However, Bahtra said that currently the government is still focused on handling the Sumatra flood disaster.
“Currently the current government under the Prabowo government is focusing on disaster management in Sumatra,” he said.
Gerindra is a political party founded and led by Prabowo as general chairman until now.
Chairman of the PKS Election Winning Body who is also a member of Commission II of the DPR, Mardani Ali Sera, admitted that his party is currently reviewing the discourse on the permanent coalition proposed by Golkar. He said the results would be presented next week.
“It’s being discussed. Not yet finished. Next week, God willing,” said Mardani when contacted, Monday.
Meanwhile, said Mardani, PKS is proposing various mechanisms regarding regional elections. His party wants direct regional elections to continue to be held for the election of governors and mayors.Meanwhile, regent elections can be held through the DPRD.
He said the mechanism was adapted to the democratic culture in the region.
“Direct regional elections can bring out regional pearls even if they come from small parties or NGOs. It is good for urban areas that direct regional elections remain. And in rural areas it can be considered through the DPRD. So there is asymmetry in regional elections,” he said.
Previously, the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, assessed that the goal of a permanent coalition was important to ensure that every strategic government policy received stable political support.
The Golkar National Meeting also produced a recommendation that regional elections be elected through the DPRD as a form of implementing popular sovereignty, while still emphasizing public involvement and participation in the implementation process.
The Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Golkar Party held a National Meeting on Saturday (20/12) at the Golkar Party DPP office, Jakarta.Chaired by Bahlil, the meeting was attended by all representatives of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Golkar Party at the provincial level.
