Make a surprise when he came to the field riding a bicycle before kick-off the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between the team he trained Austria vs Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday night (10/9) local time.
The 67 -year -old coach was also seen pedaling his bicycle across the Bilino Polje Stadium Field, Zenica, headed for the dressing room.He also used a bicycle when conducting a pre-match interview with Austrian television station, ORF.
Apparently, Rangnick was still recovery after undergoing ankle surgery due to the complications he experienced in the summer.He chose to ride a bicycle so he didn’t need to walk too far.

In July, Rangnick had returned to the hospital due to postoperative infection.Now, he said his condition had improved and the recovery continued, although he still had to limit his leg movements.
Rangnick began training the Austrian national team since 2022. Under his care, Austria managed to qualify for the round of 16 of Euro 2024 after becoming a group champion containing France, the Netherlands and Poland.

The match against Bosnia became part of Austria’s efforts to qualify for their first World Cup since 1998. Austria won 2-1 thanks to a goal from Marcel Sabitzer and Konrad Laimer, while Edin Dzeko scored the only goal for Bosnia.
So far, Rangnick has recorded 21 wins from 37 matches with Austria.He also trained top clubs such as Manchester United, Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, Schalke, and Stuttgart.In 2024, he even refused an offer from Bayern Munich.
