Roby and Megawati are confirmed to be bearers of the Indonesian banner on the special day of the Southeast Asian sporting event.
The long-distance track and field athlete admitted that he was confused when he found out he was the flag bearer.There was a feeling of pride and surprise, as well as emotion.

“I’m definitely nervous because this is history and pride for me. Very excited and can’t wait for this moment. Honestly, I didn’t expect to be chosen as flag bearer,” said Roby, quoted from the official release of the Indonesian National Olympic Committee (NOC).
“I am grateful and this is an encouragement to compete. I will always give the best performance for Indonesia,” he added.
Megawati also admitted that the trust given to her was a great honor.The athlete from Jember hopes he can also ignite the enthusiasm of his colleagues who are competing to defend Indonesia.
“This is a very special moment for me. Being a flag bearer means carrying the hope of millions of Indonesians. I will carry out this task with pride and hopefully it can be a trigger for enthusiasm for the entire team,” said Megawati.
The Chef de Mission of the Indonesian Team, Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, emphasized that the selection of Roby and Megawati was based on the character of the Indonesian Team at this SEA Games.
“The Indonesian team came to the 2025 SEA Games with a spirit of unity, self-confidence and determination to show their best abilities. Roby and Megawati are symbols of a generation of Indonesian athletes who excel and inspire. We believe all athletes will compete with sportsmanship, pride and focus on bringing home the best results for the nation,” explained Bayu.
The opening ceremony for the 2025 SEA Games will take place at Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Tuesday (9/12) at 19.00 WIB.
