Sea water overflow floods (

) inundated the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) area on Jalan RE Martadinata, North Jakarta.A number of motorbikes broke down when they broke through the floodwaters.

at the location, Friday (5/12) at around 10.00 WIB the height on Jalan RE Martadinata was still around 20 centimeters (cm).Vehicles passing through the area were moving slowly.
A number of officers from Satpol PP, PPSU, and the Water Resources Service (SDA) were seen controlling traffic at the location.They direct vehicles not to pass on the deep side.

A number of motorbikes were seen breaking down and their owners had to be pushed to get out of the flood.Public Facilities Infrastructure Handling (PPSU) officers at the location helped residents whose motorbikes broke down.
Marzuki (57), a rider whose motorbike broke down on Jalan RE Martadinata, said that today’s flood was higher than yesterday.He said that yesterday his motorbike was still able to get through the flood.
“Yesterday it was still shallow, I could still walk on a motorbike,” said Marzuki.
Marzuki was going to Sunter this morning.He didn’t expect the water level to rise today, causing his motorbike to break down.
“I don’t know (the water level has risen). Yesterday it wasn’t. It also broke down because it was hit by a wave, a passing car hit its spark plug,” he said.
Previously, tidal floods submerged the North Jakarta and Seribu Islands areas.Jakarta residents are asked to be alert because the peak of the tidal wave is predicted to occur on Friday (5/12).
