Rosan says 14.6 million companies are officially registered in the Republic of Indonesia: the majority are MSMEs

officially registered in Indonesia as of 3 December 2025. The majority of those registered are micro, small and medium enterprises (
MSMEs
).
This data refers to the provision of a Business Identification Number (NIB).
“We also report that there are indeed 14.6 million companies registered with us through the NIB. Although, the majority of them are MSMEs,” explained Rosan after meeting Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (3/12).

“As of December 3 (2025), there are more than 91 thousand large companies,” continued Rosan.
At the same time, Rosan explained that the meeting with Airlangga was a moment to report plans to improve the Standard Classification of Indonesian Business Fields (KBLI).He said there were business fields that had not been recorded by KBLI.
Minister Rosan said that the KBLI needs to be updated every five years.He explained that the last improvements were made in 2020.
“We (KBLI) will later embed it in the OSS system (
Online Single Submission
) us.”And this will be used for the Economic Census in 2026. So, it will be better captured properly and correctly,” he stressed.
Later, the improvements to the KBLI will also be socialized to the business world and related ministries/institutions (K/L).
