It is known that Polda Metro Jaya has named Roy Suryo and seven other people as suspects in the alleged case of Jokowi’s fake diploma.
David said that the issue of fake diplomas which continues to be played up by a handful of parties is a very dangerous form of deceiving the people.

David said that this action not only attacked certain individuals, but also damaged the dignity of the nation and public trust in the education system and state institutions.
“This issue is embarrassing and damages the nation’s image. They are not aware that accusations like this create public unrest and can have a domino effect. Imagine, Indonesian children who study abroad could worry that their diplomas will not be recognized. This is very dangerous,” said David in his statement, Friday (7/11).
Moreover, said David, the accusation was directed at Jokowi, who once served as president.According to him, this issue is not a criticism, but slander.
“This is not criticism, but slander that insults the nation. Attacks like this not only tarnish individuals, but hurt the honor of the country,” he said.
David also appreciated the steps taken by the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri and his staff who had uncovered the case of allegations of Jokowi’s fake diploma.
“I give my highest appreciation to the National Police, especially to the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Asep Edi Suheri, along with the investigators who worked professionally, objectively and carefully in handling this case,” he said.
Furthermore, David also appealed to the entire community not to be easily provoked and to remain confident in the ongoing legal process.
“People have to be smart. Don’t be fooled by cheap rumors. Believe me, the Police work professionally, and we are all obliged to support their firm steps,” he said.
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya named eight suspects divided into two clusters in connection with the alleged case of Jokowi’s fake diploma.
The first cluster consists of five suspects, namely Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah.They were charged with Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 160 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 27a in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 4 and/or Article 28 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45a Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.
Then the second cluster consisted of three suspects, namely Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias Dr Tifa.They were charged under Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 32 Paragraph 1 Juncto Article 48 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 35 Junto Article 51 Paragraph 1 and/or Article 27a Junto Article 45 Paragraph 4 and/or Article 28 Paragraph 2 Junto Article 45a Paragraph 2 of the ITE Law.
