Asian currencies vary.The Philippine peso fell 0.06 percent, the Japanese yen rose 0.15 percent, the Malaysian ringgit rose 0.05 percent, the Singapore dollar plus 0.15 percent, the South Korean won plus 0.45 percent, and the Thai baht rose 0.16 percent.
Likewise, the main currencies of developed countries varied.The European euro was plus 0.10 percent, the Swiss franc fell 0.04 percent, the Australian dollar fell 0.29 percent, and the Canadian dollar fell 0.03 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said the rupiah and regional currencies generally strengthened against the US dollar, supported by risk-on sentiment due to the increasing prospect of the Fed cutting interest rates.
“Meanwhile, the prospect of cutting BI interest rates is actually decreasing, reflected by the increase in Indonesian bond yields,” he said
