Meanwhile, the Bank Indonesia (BI) Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (Jisdor) reference rate put the rupiah at IDR 16,722 per US dollar in trading this afternoon.

Asian currencies vary.The Chinese yuan rose 0.03 percent, the Singapore dollar fell 0.02 percent, the Philippine peso strengthened 0.32 percent, the Malaysian ringgit plus 0.07 percent, the South Korean won fell 0.29 percent, the Japanese yen fell 0.15 percent, and the Thai baht rose 0.04 percent.
In developed countries, exchange rate movements also vary.The British pound fell 0.05 percent, the European euro plus 0.02 percent, the Swiss franc rose 0.04 percent, the Canadian dollar rose 0.11 percent, the Australian dollar strengthened 0.08 percent.
Doo Financial Futures analyst Lukman Leong said the rupiah weakened again as the opportunity for Bank Indonesia (BI) to lower interest rates opened up.
“The Indonesian Rupiah weakened again as speculation increased that BI would continue the cycle of reducing interest rates, responding to the BI Governor’s statement that there was still room to loosen monetary policy,” he told hitclubapk3Indonesia.com.
