on Tuesday (25/11) reported that Trump was lobbying his friend and supporter Larry Ellison, Paramount Skydance’s largest shareholder, to work on the film.
Paramount, according to multiple sources, will not be responsible for marketing or financing the film.They will be paid a fixed distribution fee for showing Rush Hour 4 in theaters.
Paramount’s new chairman and CEO, David Ellison, is the son of Larry Ellison, one of Trump’s most prominent financial supporters.Trump has publicly praised Ellison’s leadership at the media company.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros., whose New Line label backed the first Rush Hour film (1998) and its sequels (2001, 2007) will earn the first dollar gross.
That means the studio receives a certain percentage of box office revenue before financiers cover any costs.
Brett Ratner, who directed the first three films before his career was derailed in 2017 by #MeToo allegations, will return to direct the fourth film.
In the past, several distributors have been approached after Warner Bros.allowing the director and producers to market the new Rush Hour, but no one wanted to get involved due to Ratner’s involvement.
Ratner has been close to the US President’s family since directing the documentary Melania, which Amazon paid $40 million to release.
Rush Hour 4 will feature the return of original stars, Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.The film will also mark Ratner’s first feature film since 2014’s Dwayne Johnson-starring Hercules.
The first Rush Hour tells the story of two police officers who are forced to work together to save the kidnapped daughter of a Chinese diplomat.The film was a huge success with a global gross of US$244 million.
The two follow-up films, Rush Hour 2 and Rush Hour 3, were even greater commercial successes with revenues of US$347 million and US$258 million respectively, despite receiving mixed reviews.
It is still unclear regarding the production timeline, especially the broadcast schedule for Rush Hour 4. Chris Tucker has also not been the main star of a film since the three Rush Hour sequels in 2007.
