MKD in the decision hearing stated that Sahroni had been proven to have violated the code of ethics. This deactivation starts from the time he was previously deactivated based on the decision of the NasDem Party DPP as of August 31.
“Declaring that the fifth defendant, Ahmad Sahroni, has been proven to have violated the DPR RI code of ethics. Sentencing the fifth defendant, Ahmad Sahroni, to be inactive for 6 months effective from the time this decision is read, which is calculated from the time of the relevant deactivation as per the decision of the Nasdem DPP,” said MKD Deputy Chair Adang Darajatun in the decision.
During the deactivation period, the MKD also decided that Sahroni and four other contestants: Adies Kadir, Nafa Urbach, Eko Hendro Purnomo (Eko Patrio), and Surya Utama (Uya Kuya), did not receive financial rights, both salaries and allowances, from the DPR.
“Defendant one, defendant two, defendant three, defendant four, and defendant five, during the deactivation period did not receive financial rights,” said Adang Daradjatun.
In its consideration, MKD considered that Sahroni’s statement which was complained to MKD was unwise. This statement refers to when Sahroni called the proposal to disband the DPR as ‘foolish’.
“There should have been a five-way contest, Ahmad Sahroni responded by choosing words that were appropriate and wise. He didn’t use inappropriate words,” said MKD judge, Imron Amin.
