SBY said disaster management, including reconstruction and rehabilitation, takes time.Apart from that, sufficient resources are also needed, including financial ones.

According to him, currently it is necessary to create a complete policy and master plan for handling disasters in Sumatra.
SBY claimed to have gained a lot of experience when dealing with the tsunami disaster in Aceh and Nias, earthquakes in Yogyakarta and Padang, as well as a number of other large-scale natural disasters.
“Command and control must be effective, and ideally the President can lead through crisis management,” said SBY via social media X, @SBYudhoyono, Wednesday (24/12).
SBY realized that the methods and styles chosen by heads of government were not always the same.For example, he said, what President Prabowo is doing now may not be the same as what I did before.
“This is caused by differences in the situation or context of the disaster; differences in the type of disaster and the magnitude of the damage caused, as well as differences in methods between leaders,” he said.
The chairman of the Democratic Party’s High Council assessed that President Prabowo was serious about going into the field and paying full attention.
He also knows that President Prabowo has taken a number of policies to rebuild provinces in Sumatra that experienced this natural disaster.
Furthermore, SBY said that currently what all parties need to pay attention to is the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
According to him, there are a number of factors for successful rehabilitation and reconstruction, including a good rehabilitation and reconstruction concept, effective organization and leadership in the field, as well as effective implementation of the plan.
“Don’t forget, accountability for the use of state money is also well maintained,” he said.
“That’s my opinion and let’s support the government’s steps to rebuild Sumatra after the disaster and ensure that our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster have a good future,” SBY added.
Previously, President Prabowo promised temporary shelter to residents of the Sumatran flood victims.The temporary shelter has now begun to be built.
“Temporary residential houses have started to be built, they can be completed, temporary housing for a month so that ladies and gentlemen don’t have to live in tents,” said Prabowo.
After that, he also promised to build permanent housing for the victims.According to him, the promised permanent housing is also appropriate and good enough for the residents there to live in.
“I see that the quality is quite good, the area is large, the permanent residence is also quite large, 70 m2,” he said.
Prabowo said the government would not remain silent.He said that all parties are now working hard to overcome this problem.
