) for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five will continue during the school holidays at the end of 2025.
This group remains a top priority because it is in the crucial phase of the First 1,000 Days of Life (HPK).
Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana said interventions to fulfill nutrition for vulnerable groups should not be interrupted and should not be related to the educational calendar.

“Interventions to fulfill nutritional needs for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children under five are a very important part and must not be interrupted. The first 1,000 days of life are short, and we must protect this golden time as best as possible. They have nothing to do with school time,” said Dadan in his official statement in Jakarta, Thursday (25/12).
Meanwhile, different policies are implemented for beneficiaries from school children during the holiday period.BGN determines that MBG services for school children are optional and adapt to technical conditions in the field and the activities of beneficiary families.
“For school children it is optional. If it is not possible to pick up or send it for technical reasons, or are on holiday, that is not a problem. However, for those who need it, we still provide the service,” explained Dadan.
BGN also said that the implementation of the MBG at the end of 2025 will still take place on 26, 27, 29, 30 and 31 December 2025, especially to ensure continuity of services for priority groups.
Entering 2026, the MBG program will run again simultaneously starting January 8 2026.
January 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 2026 are designated as preparation days for Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) or MBG kitchens throughout Indonesia, which include kitchen readiness, distribution, human resources, as well as strengthening food safety standards.
