Roby Sianturi and Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi will carry the Red and White flag at the opening ceremony of the 2025 SEA Games at Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok, Thailand, Tuesday (9/12) evening.
Roby, who is a half marathon athlete, and Megawati, who strengthens the women’s national volleyball team, are two of the 69 Indonesian athletes who will fill the Indonesian contingent.
Reporting from the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Robi and Megawati will wear clothes with regional ornaments.Robi wore a formal black suit, ulos and a traditional North Sumatran headband.Meanwhile, Megawati will wear a red kebaya with a tapis cloth and a Lampung siger crown.

“This is a very special moment for me. Being a flag bearer means bringing hope to millions of Indonesians,” said Megawati.
“I’m definitely nervous because this is history and pride for me. Very excited and can’t wait for this moment. Honestly, I didn’t expect to be chosen as flag bearer,” said Roby.
Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian Team, Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, emphasized that Roby and Megawati were chosen because they reflect the character of the Indonesian Team at the 2025 SEA Games.
“The Indonesian team came to the 2025 SEA Games with a spirit of unity, self-confidence and determination to show their best abilities. Roby and Megawati are symbols of a generation of Indonesian athletes who excel and inspire,” said Bayu.
Apart from Robi and Megawati there will also be swimming athlete Samuel Maxson, equestrian athlete Brayen Brata Coolen and Karen Herjawan, as well as two chess athletes Irene Kharisma and Dewi Ardhiani Anastasia who will also wear other traditional Indonesian clothing.
