“Polda Metro Jaya has named eight suspects in the case of defamation, slander and manipulation of data reported by Mr Jokowi,” said Polda Metro Jaya Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri at a press conference at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (7/11).
The suspects in this case are divided into two clusters.

The first cluster is, Eggi Sudjana (ES), Kurnia Tri Rohyani (KTR), Damai Hari Lubis (DHL), Rustam Effendi (RE), and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah (MRF).They were charged with articles 310, article 311, 160 of the Criminal Code, article 27a in conjunction, article 45 paragraph 4, and article 28 in conjunction with the ITE Law.
Meanwhile, the second cluster is Roy Suryo (RS), Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar (RHS), and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias dr.Tifa (TT).
They were charged with article 310, article 311 of the Criminal Code, article 32 paragraph 1 jo, article 48 paragraph 1, article 35 of the ITE Law.
Director of General Criminal Investigation, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, said that the determination of the cluster was based on investigative facts obtained by investigators and in accordance with the legal actions carried out by each suspect.
“In the results of our investigation, the facts obtained from the results of the investigation are of course that the determination of the cluster is based on the investigative facts obtained by the investigator and is in accordance with what was done or the legal actions carried out by each suspect,” said Imam at Polda Metro Jaya, Friday (7/11).
In determining these suspects, Asep said, investigators had examined 130 witnesses and 22 experts from various fields consisting of the press council, KPI, director general of Kumham rules and regulations, digital forensics academics, Indonesian language experts and legal sociologists.
This case is a follow-up to reports from a number of parties against Roy Suryo CS who was actively investigating the authenticity of Jokowi’s Bachelor’s degree certificate at Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
There have been at least six police reports regarding allegations of fake Jokowi diplomas.Of the six reports, one of them was reported directly by Jokowi.
Jokowi reported allegations of slander or defamation related to allegations of fake diplomas, based on Article 310 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 305 in conjunction with 51 paragraph 1 of the ITE Law.
Those reported include Roy Suryo, Tifauzia Tyassuma and Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar.The three of them are actively tracing the authenticity of Jokowi’s bachelor’s degree certificate, both by conducting research and holding discussions and meeting with related parties.
Claim scientific research
Roy Suryo cs from the start claimed that the search for the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma was carried out scientifically, using or complying with the principles of academic research.
They even published a book on the results of Jokowi’s diploma search.The book, which is around 700 pages thick, is entitled ‘Jokowi’s White Paper’
This book contains documentation and tracing efforts of Roy Suryo cs.This book was published August 18, 2025.
Responding to this suspect status, Roy Suryo insisted that what he did was limited to examining public documents.Roy feels criminalized in this case.
“So this will set a bad precedent if someone examines public documents and is then suspected and then criminalized. And the second thing is that we still respect all of this,” said Roy, Friday.
He also admitted that he had not yet thought about legal steps.Roy will discuss this first with his attorney.
This is different from Rismon, who has stated that he will file a pretrial as a challenge to the determination of this suspect.
“We will take pretrial legal action,” said Rismon when contacted.
