Corruption Eradication Commission
) conducted a search of the Riau Provincial Government Education Office, Thursday (13/11).
From the search, investigators confiscated a number of pieces of evidence suspected to be related to the alleged case of extortion and/or receiving gratuities from Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and his friends (et al).
“In the continuation of today’s search, the team secured and confiscated documents and BBE (Electronic Evidence) from the Education Service office and two house locations,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in a written statement, Thursday evening.

Budi explained that the confiscated documents and BBE were still related to the budget shift.
During this week, investigators have been in Riau to carry out a series of searches and examine witnesses.
Previously, from Monday (10/11) to Wednesday (12/11), investigators had already searched the Riau Governor’s Office, the Office of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement and Land Areas (PUPR PKPP), the Office of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), and several houses whose owners were not disclosed.
From all these places, investigators confiscated a number of documents and BBE related to shifts in the Riau Provincial Government’s budget.
In this case, the anti-corruption agency has named the Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid, Dani M. Nursalam as Abdul Wahid’s Expert, and the Head of the PUPR PKPP Service for Riau Province M Arief Setiawan as suspects in the alleged case of extortion and/or receiving gratuities.
Abdul Wahid et al were detained by the KPK for 20 days until November 23 2025 for investigation purposes.
The suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and/or Article letter f and/or Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
The handling of this case began with Operation Hand Arrest (OTT) in early November.
