Selangor this season actually still has quite a lot of strength in local competitions because it is in fifth place in the Malaysian league standings which has entered its eighth week.Apart from that, Selangor also entered the semifinals of the Malaysian FA Cup.
It’s just that when appearing in the AFC Champions League 2, Selangor always failed to achieve positive results and is now at the bottom of Group G.
“We have proven that we are capable of competing in the domestic league, but for the Champions League, we need to increase our efforts to maintain this momentum,” said Gamel.
“We face every challenge and as I said before, we must be more enthusiastic about improving our capabilities in all aspects,” he added.
If they lose again to Persib, then Selangor will be eliminated from ACL2.On the other hand, if they win, the club, which has been strengthened by several Indonesian national team players such as Bambang Pamungkas, Elie Aiboy and Evan Dimas, will again have the opportunity to advance to the knockout phase.
Meanwhile for Persib who leads the Group G standings, the match against Selangor could strengthen their efforts to win a ticket to the round of 16.
