Machuca is one of seven naturalized Harimau Malaya players who were caught in a case of fake ancestral documents.
FIFA has issued fines and a 12-month playing ban to Machuca and six other players.FIFA has rejected the appeal of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).

While FAM is in the process of appealing through the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), Velez stated that he would continue to pay Machuca’s salary in full.

, Argentine media said that Machuca’s welfare would be taken care of by the club in order to avoid potential legal problems between the club and the player.
Velez is also said to not be announcing Machuca’s future until the outcome of the appeal via CAS is determined.
Machuca, who is currently on loan at Brazilian club Fortaleza, only has less than two months left on his contract with Velez.
The fate of Machuca, who received a salary amidst FIFA’s punishment, was better than some of his colleagues who had just been naturalized in Malaysia.
Rodrigo Holgado is reportedly unpaid and has had his contract terminated at Colombian club America de Cali.Meanwhile, Gabriel Palmero has been released by Unionistas and Tenerife after a case of fake documents.
