Earth magnitude 4.4 rocked the city
Tarakan
, North Kalimantan, on Saturday (8/11) afternoon.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred at around 15.56 WIB.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 15 kilometers southeast of Tarakan with a depth of 10 kilometers.

So far, there have been no reports regarding the impact of earthquake damage.
On Wednesday (5/11), Tarakan was also shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 at around 17.37 WIB.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea, about 24 kilometers southeast of Tarakan with a depth of 10 kilometers.
Based on BMKG analysis, the earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami.

The earthquake shaking was felt quite strongly for approximately five seconds in the Tarakan City area, especially in West Tarakan District, Karang Rejo Village, and Mamburun Village.
The vibrations caused some people in the shopping center to feel the shock clearly and ran out of the building to save themselves.
