Hundreds of ojols began the action by distributing black ribbons as a sign of mourning to motorcyclists at Simpang Empat Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman, DIY, Friday at around 10:30 WIB.

The drivers seemed unsatisfied when they were only met by the Head of the DIY Regional Police Operational Bureau, Senior Commissioner Rendra Radita Dewayana and Sleman Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Edy Setianto Erning Wibowo.

The Chairperson of the Yogyakarta Moving Ojek Forum (Foyb), Wuri Rahmawati said, this time the action was attended by tens to hundreds of drivers from various regions throughout DIY.
Through this action, the drivers demanded that unscrupulous members of Brimob who crashed into Affan be tried and given a worthy sentence.It also changes the procedure in handling mass action.
“It is hoped that the perpetrators who crash into our colleagues are legally processed and given the punishment that is worth it, because it is a form of intentional to kill our colleagues on the road,” said Wuri.
Affan Kurniawan died after being crushed by Rantis Brimob’s car during a series of demonstrations taking place around the Indonesian Parliament Building on Thursday (8/28) night.The incident was recorded video and circulated widely on social media.
National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo has asked Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Asep Hedi Suheru to take the necessary steps to handle the victims.Asep promised to take firm action against the perpetrators who caused Affan’s death.
The death of Affan also triggered a variety of reactions or further actions by the masses in Jakarta until Friday morning.
