“This innovation is presented to make it easier for farmers and traders to transport agricultural products and merchandise safely, quickly and without traffic jams on the way,” wrote KAI via social media, quoted on Tuesday (9/12).

Government’s support for farmers and traders
Quoted from the government’s statement, the operation of the Special Train for Farmers and Traders is also a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo Subianto’s support for farmers and small traders.
This is in line with the vision promoted by the government under Prabowo’s leadership, namely village development for economic equality and poverty eradication.
With the support of inclusive public transportation policies and government-subsidized fares, this initiative opens up wider access for people’s businesses to transport agricultural products and merchandise more quickly, safely and efficiently.
Not only does it facilitate economic mobility, this step also has the potential to increase income, strengthen competitiveness, and ultimately encourage an increase in the standard of living of farmers and traders in various regions.
The special train for farmers and traders has a capacity of 73 seats and a large luggage area. This service is integrated into 14 Merak Commuter Line trips every day, serving 11 stations from Rangkasbitung to Merak. Each user can carry two bags of large items.
