) stated that the logs that washed up on Tanjung Setia Beach, Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung came from the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra.
Director of Forest Product Fees and Administration (IPHH) of the Directorate General of Sustainable Forest Management (PHL) of the Ministry of Forestry, Ade Mukadi, said that the thousands of pieces of wood belonged to PT Minas Pagai Lumber.
“It belongs to PT Minas Pagai in the Mentawai Islands,” said Ade Mukadi when confirmed, Wednesday (10/12).

Ade confirmed that based on examination of the barcodes on the wood and checked in the Forest Products Administration Information System (SIPUHH), thousands of these logs belonged to PT Minas Pagai.
“So it’s true that it wasn’t from the Sumatran floods. Currently, further verification is still being carried out,” he said.
Previously, as many as 4,800 cubic meters of wood of various types from West Sumatra (Sumbar) were still stranded on Tanjung Setia Beach, Pesisir Barat Regency, Lampung.There is a barcode label with the words Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) on the logs.
The Ministry of Forestry confirmed that the logs found in Pesisir Barat, Lampung were not wood washed away by floods in Sumatra.
This stranded wood came from a wooden tug boat accident on November 6.The wood belongs to PT Minas Pagai Lumber.
The company has received permission from the Minister of Forestry for production forest areas through permit SK.550/1995 dated 11 October 1995 and was extended in 2013 in accordance with SK.502/Menhut-II/2013 dated 18 July 2013.
“The barcode on the logs is a SVLK marker (Timber Legality Verification System) which is used to check the validity/origin of the wood source (traceability system to prevent illegal logging),” he said.
